AN ERASMUS+ PROJECT FOR THE DISSEMINATION OF ANIMAL WELFARE PRACTICES IN FARMED RUMINANTS

“Dissemination of animal welfare practices in farmed ruminants” (WELFARUMINANT) is a project funded by the Erasmus+ program, with the aim of promoting training and good practices for improving animal welfare in farmed ruminant (cattle, sheep and goats) in Turkey and EU countries.

The project is coordinated by the Burdur University Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (Turkey) and involves the participation of the University of Milan (DiSAA) and the ULisboa Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (Lisbon, Portugal).

The project, which starts next May 2022, will last for two years, during which training sessions, symposia and practical field days will be held in the 3 partner countries. Furthermore, informative material will be produced, in the form of manuals and video tutorials, to be disseminated among students of agricultural sciences and veterinary medicine, farmers, technicians and veterinarians in order to implement good farming practices to ensure animal welfare.

The project’s website is still under construction. More info coming soon: https://www.welfaruminant.org/
