Brief description of criteria and methods used for the evaluation of the ecological status of Italian running waters. Modelling tools to support evaluations: Qual2K (quality modelling), PHABSIM and MesoHABSIM (Habitat modelling). This will be followed by a practical exercise on the use of modelling tools for the evaluating of the effects of different restoration scenarios for a stretch of the Cherio stream.
